When we are fearful of something, we are acknowledging its power to harm us.
My fears were related to giving up my "prestige" and all the finer things in life. I was scared to consider having to abandon my home.
The release is in denying that anything in or of this world can hurt us, accepting that we are part of a much larger fabric of the universe, that is, accepting that we are one with our Creator and the universe and not the drivers of this movie called life.
Most of us have high tolerance for pain and our ego is strong, but eventually we get to a point that there must be a better way.
As this recognition became more firmly established in my mind, it became a turning point.
I stopped fearing the bill collections, I stopped fearing having to give up my home. I stopped fearing what ever lay in store ahead for me.
In addition, this kindled a more spiritual perspective to life for me and a belief in a higher power that is directing events, leading to an instantaneous loss of fear and creation of peace.
With a spiritual perspective, we are able to bring our wild fear based thinking under control. As children of God we are all entitled to the comfort of knowing that we may not be able to trust our ways, but we can trust his.
